ESS / MSS WDA Customer specific Changes in EHP6 / EP 7.3

Hi

 

we have deployed SAP Portal 7.3, EHP6 in that we are planning to use WDA based BP (BPERP5WDA 1.50 and MSS Add on 1.0). We are planning to roll out more than 15 countries.

 

W.r.to the country wise we have the requirement to hide / visible, edit , read only for some of the fields in ESS and MSS based WDA applications. In some cases we need to hide / make it as read only as globally.

 

I could see the following two different options, FPM based approach, Administrator Personalization (by adding sap-config-mode=X in the URL of WDA).

 

And also I could see in some of the SCN thread,

 

Say for example, w.r.to the Admin personalization where for one user who hides the field in English (US) the same field appears if we login as English (UK). Is it based on languages in User DB of Portal (or) the country / molga parameter belongs to that user in HR Org structure.

 

Please let me know, as per my requirement, which is the right approach either FPM based approach / Administrator Personalization.

 

Also let me know, when we implement (either hide / read only) changes through Admin Personalization, I understand it creates some entry in the SAP DB table. Is there any specific parameters are getting added molga/ country details when we make the changes through Admin Personalization in backend table?

MSS MyTeam Lane EE Photos

We are implementing the UI5 Team Lane for MSS.  As part of this we are starting to upload EE photos which we had not done before.  This is working fine for the most part.  However, after some time, the ee photos stop appearing in the Team Lane for MSS.  I've read that there is a validity that gets set when running RPTMC_INDEX_EE_PIC_URL_TO_INDX, that links the pictures to the CPID.  If we rerun this report the pictures reappear.  But it seems odd that we would need to rerun the report periodically.

 

Is there any documentation available for that validity or an explanation?  We always want the photos to show in the lane, but I'm assuming something could be adjusted and we wouldn't have to run this report every 12 hours or something.

ESS (Web Dynpro ABAP) Hiding/Removing SSN on W4 View

Hello,

 

We just setup the ESS (Web Dynpro ABAP) view for the W4 tax information.  Our business users would like to hide/remove the Social Security Number field from appearing in the "Personal Information" section of the W4 view screen (see attachment).  I am able to hide/remove any fields related to Infotype 0210, but haven't discovered a way to remove this field or any other fields that appear in the Personal Information section.

 

Is there a way to do this through configuration in the ECC system?  Or will we need to make a copy of this view and change it in there?

 

Seems odd that SAP would allow you to hide the W4 fields through configuration, but not these extra fields.

 

Any help would be most appreciated.

HCM Processes and Forms - Confirmation Text Formatting

Hi All,

 

I am attempting to use the Confirmation Txt in the Scenario Steps of a form. When the editor comes up, there are not options for formatting available. According to the help system, the text editor provides you with XML formatting options as below.

Below is a screen print. Notice that a very limited toolbar is available with no formatting options:

Has anyone had experience with this and if so, were you able to format the text? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Our system is ECC 6.0, EhP 6.

Hi Experts,

 

we are using portal 7.3 version,Our requirement  is addition
of a new field “Leave Details” in the LTA screen with dropdown values from Infotype
2001 subtype ITEL. From the current calendar year in ESS.The new field should
be available only for the claim type LTA claim or claim against advance.

Employee profile in MSS Add on 1.0 – removal of tabs w.r.to Country

Dear Team

 

 

We have following requirement based on MSS Add on 1.0 in EHP6. We are using EP 7.3.

 

 

In Employee profile we have the following list of applications are available from MSS Add on 1.0.

 

 

Time and Vacation, Salary Data, Performance, Training cost,
Upcoming Training, Competency Matchup, total Compensation History, Potential,
Organizational Assignment , Archived documents, Company property, Absence days
and Task Monitoring.

We are planning to roll out more than 15 countries. With respect to the country wise we have a restriction to show some information on
Portal. Say for example I want to show the Salary Data and Training cost only for the country a1, a2 and for all the remaining countries the tab should not be appear in Portal.  Company property should appear only for country a3 and a4 and for all the remaining countries
this should not appear.

 

 

I have already checked the WDA Admin Personalization but which makes the changes globally. I am not sure whether there is any specific
way to do the same w.r.to FPM config. If possible can you please share the way to achieve the same?

External Candidate Registration - ERecruitment

Hi Team,

 

We have an issue in External Candidate registration process. After, the external candidate registration got completed, the user id to be created in the backend is not happening.

 

Thus, the candidate is not able to login with the user id he has provided while registration.

 

But the details are available in the Talent Pool regarding the candidate.

 

Please through some light on how system actually creates an User in the backend when an external candidate registers.

Hi

 

referring to enhance/add a new field element to the short profile i wish to follow the steps as i the below link:

But I couldn't find the path in my SPRO:

 

The fields in the short profile are configured in Customizing under: Manager Self-Services (Web Dynpro ABAP) Employee Overview Profile Basic Settings Adjusting the User Interfaces Configurations for Data Retrieval Extend Field Selection Add Fields to Field Selection Catalog

HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT INPLACE

Hi Experts,

 

Im experiencing some problems with my appraisals: because of security reasons, the documents of the appraisals must not be launched using a popup (external window...). So I have changed LPD_CUST and indicate that the appraisal should be opened INPLACE. This is working fine and when I click on a document in the MSS POWL, the document is displayed INPLACE. The problem comes when the user Save&Exit the document or change the status --> The document get closed and also the whole window! and the user must start again the IE etc...

 

Is there any solution in the FPM, Iview, etc.. to indicate to the HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT that is working INPLACE so It is not necessary to close the window but to come back to the POWL?. I didn´t find anything!

 

Im on EHP4, with EP of course.

Flexible Working time in MSS - Incorrect Locks

Hi All,

 

We are facing an issue, like manager have an issue that one of their employee showing a padlocked again in MSS flexible working time. We have checked in PA20 and SM04 they are not locked.

 

Managers are not able to create or change working pattern as they get the message that employee is locked.

 

Could you please advice how to fix this issue.

Hi all,

 

I.m implementing ESS-WDA and our servers are in versions: Portal 7.3SP10, ERP6.0 EHP6.

 

In DEV system, I did some modifications on the MENU instance of ESS role but I was having some texts and translation problems. Because of that I try so many ways to delete my version and as last resource I've manually deteled the entries with CHANGED_BY = MYUSER.

The entries deleteion cause an inconsistency and when I try to edit the instance through LPD_CUST I'm getting a DUMP CONNE_ILLEGAL_TRANSPORT_HEADER.

 

Evaluating my options to solve this, I've seen that perform a client copy from other system (QAS for example) is not a option because there are a lot of configuration an a master data created into DEV system.

 

Does anybody how can I restore the LPD_CUST to its initial version.

Once Manager Approve the OD system should generate OD form automatically and it should send a e-mail to employee.

 

Is it standard ?

 

And

 

System update on duty in IT 2002.

How Reimbursements process through ESS?

Dear All,

 

Client is Indian.

 

We have 12 types of reimbursements.

 

In this 5 reimbursements are salary related  - part of salary (LTA, Medical, vehicle, Books and Communications) this have to run off-cycle payroll.

 

I knew this......

 

Employee apply through ESS-- Manager approve---Se38 --HINUINFU---update IT0015-- Payroll run--Posting.

 

 

Remaining 7 reimbursements (Not a part of salary) How to process through ESS?

 

Tell me process flow please...................

In ESS/ MSS Leave should update w.e.f leave applied date

Hi All,

 

My client requirement is.....

 

 

Employee applied (on 30th April 2014) for future date i.e 20th May 2014 to 23rd May 2014.

 

Employee applied on 30th April 2014

 

Manager approved on 1st May 2014.

 

Once Manager approved it should not update IT2006 - Absence Quota.

 

It should update on 20th May 2014. After Planned work schedule,

 

Can we configure or not. (Standard SAP not support I knew this)

 

If Yes......tell me the a few configuration map.

Reimbursements configuration

Hi All,

 

1. Is there any different Between reimbursement and claims?

 

2. We have 10 reimbursements types. (Should I maintain 10 Reimbursements names in R/3)

      Why because in ESS this 10 should come drop down list.

In Who's who (Only Date and Month should display not Year) in DOB

Dear All,

 

In Who's who service. only Date and Month should display in portal in Date of birth. (Year should hide).

 

Is it standard or custom ?

 

Please find the  below field name. Can I maintain this. or any other configuration required?

 

SYHR_A_P0002_AF_MTGEBDAT = Day and month of date of birth.
