Integration of launchpad content into portal search

Hi SCN members,

 

I have a quick question regarding integration of application entries defined via lpd_cust in a launchpad into portal search. Portal KM in standard will index PCD content, so all navigation entries will be available for searching by end users, e.g. to quickly go to the leave request. However applications defined via lpd_cust (as in HCM ESS) are not appearing in search because standard Portal KM indexer.

 

I guess this is not possible in standard, specifically as entries displayed in launchpad can depend on BAdI implementation and are therefore user specific. However I wanted to check with SCN whether there is a way of including these entries into KM index.

Dear Friends,

 

 

I've a requirement in ESS/MSS as below. Being a HR Functional consultant and new to MSS, I need to know how shall I start. Client has already implemented ESS/MSS. Only additional features as below to be added.

 

Need to know Effort estimation for this with One ESS/EP consultant and me HR functional.

 

Detrail Requirements:

 

Employee's personal (selective details), past experience, education, leave and attendance data should display for Managers in ESS/MSS

 

Analysis:

 

I can give only below details to the ESS\EP consultant. How can I help more ? I am also eager to know how this is done in ESS/MSS?

Personal Details : From IT0002 and Family details :From IT0021

 

Past Experience : From IT0021

Education : From IT0022 and Qualification: IT0024

Leave and Attendance Data:

Absence: IT2001

Absence Quota : IT2006

Attendance : IT2002

Attendance Quota :  IT2007

MSS - Workflo Tasks Query setting - View Delete

Hi SCN Members,

 

No delete option is enabled to delete the standard view for MSS - Workflow Tasks in Query settings. Please refer attached screen shot, this view has strange field names.

 

Please let me know if there is option to delete/hide.

Process won't show up on portal

Hello!

 

Can anyone tell me why my process won't show up on the portal? I have tested the process in the backend (hrasr_test_process), but it doesn't show up on the portal. Any help would be great!

ESS CATS timesheet - template lines repeat when saving

Hi experts,

 

We have implemented CATS on SAP Portal and when you have a time entry template, and you save your time entries, the saved time is "pushed" down the timesheet by blank template lines. This happens only on the web Dynpro version (ECC does not happen) of the timesheet. If there is no template defined, everything works fine.

 

Is this a know bug? I am on the verge of raising a message with SAP, but was hoping someone here would have the solution.

Link to FPM forms from portal

Hi, 

 

we have created sample FPM form using tx:hrasr_dt and it is working fine when we execute in the back end.

 

when i am trying to link this to portal using an iview with below parameters its throwing an error as "specify valid person".

 

can you please help me with this issue.

 

Details:

 

iView Name                         : Test

Application Name                 : ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE_OVP

Application parameters         : PROCESS=ZTESTHIREWD&initiator_role=HRASRB&teamviewer_used=X&WDSUPPORTSFULLHEIGHT=2

Application configuration       :ASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE_OVP_CFG

 

above ZTESTHIREWD is my test process created.

Sending eMail after Repeated InfoType Data Change

I'm using  method if_ex_hrpad00inftydb~update_db() of BADI defiinition HRPAD00INFTYDB in enhancement spot HRPAD00INFTYBL to send an email after we change some data.

 

I navigate from an overview page, into the detail, make changes, and do a save, and the method is called (and I get my email).


Before naviating away, I make another change, and save, and the method is NOT called.  Any ideas ?

CATS WDA - Time Accounts tab - Unapproved column...

Hi all,

 

Hopefully this is a simple question to answer.  When configuring the Time Accounts tab in the CATS WDA in ESS, you can choose a column called Unapproved.  Does any one know where this information is coming from?  We are using a custom version of the standard task TS31000007 for approval using workflow by manager.

 

I tried to do some debugging, and it looks like it's trying to read the payroll cluster, but I thought it would look to see if there are any time entries in CATSDB with status of 20.

 

Hope this makes sense.

MSS Attendance overview issue

Hello Experts

 

We are on SAP_HR - Release 604, Level 0071.We are facing an issue in MSS. The MSS overview show all employees as as absent though they do not have any absence record/ leaves maintain for them in Infotype 2001 and neither any leave requests pending for approval. Incorrect status (shown as absent) is being displayed in the Attendance Overview section of the MSS portal.

 

Example A manager - X has 9 employees reporting to the him. Out of which 2 are on leave, but MSS attendance overview should show 7 at work and 2 employees as absent, but instead it is showing all employees as absent. 

 

We have raised a OSS message with SAP and so far not received any inputs. Could you please help if you have faced any such similar issue.

ESS 1.50 WDA - Role SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_WDA_2 missing

Hi

We are planning to upgrade to WDA ESS 1.50 from our old 1.41 Portal based ESS and are going with the NWBC approach. This means that we do not need to implement the Portal SCA for BPERPESSWDA1.50 (please correct if wrong) . We have activated the Business Functions HCM_ESS_WDA_1 and HCM_ESS_WDA_2 successfully.

 

However, the role SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_WDA_1 or SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_WDA_2 do not show up in our ECC system. Is this expected behavior ?

 

SAP_HR : 604 SP 53

EA-HR : 606

ECC 6.0 EHP 6

 

Please let us know if we are missing anything here.

How to incert custom leave application IView under ESS overview?

The transaction is locked by user...

Hi,

 

I am getting error The transaction is locked by user abcd while validating or submit the time sheet application.

 

In ECC, I see a lock created for CATS_ENQUE table. We have deleted the lock entries few times but even we are getting same error.

 

We are in ECC 6.0 and WAS is in 6.4.

 

Please share your inputs to fix the issue.

How to format phone number on the overview screen

We want to format telephone no. on the ess overview screen to be XXX-XXX-XXXX. right now, it is XXXXXXXXXX.

 

It uses TELNR field. Can we use the BADI HRPAD00INFTYBL or do we have any setting that we can use in WDA Component config.HRESS_CC_PER_OVR_ADDRESS_XX?

Employee Profile SAPUI5 blank screen

Hi,

 

we are testing ESS on SAPUI5 (SPS05).

 

The Start-Screen (sap/bc/ui5_ui5/sap/arsrvc_suite_pb/main.html?page=HR_SELFSERVICES), Leave Request and Organization Chart works fine.

But the Employee Profile shows a blank screen and the javascript console shows the error:

 

ReferenceError: employeeParams is not defined


I have tested the ODATA Service HRESS_EMP_PROFILE_SERVICE with the Gateway Client:

 

for the entity set  /sap/opu/odata/sap/HRESS_EMP_PROFILE_SERVICE/EmployeeCollection I get the output:

Cant view Employee & Organisational Process in MSS.

Issue With Triggering a Workflow After Executing PA40

Hi I have a requirement in PA40.

 

I have executed a transaction in PA40 and  given action type and action reason save it.

 

Action

ZB – Leave of Absence - Unpaid


Action Reason

02 – Study Leave (Unpaid)


It stored in a table PA0000 with action type and action reason.


Is there any standard business object or event which will trigger a workflow after executing PA40 action type and reason.


Can any one tell where i need to find a standard business object or an event which will trigger a workflow.

Error while changing bank details in ESS

Hi Gurus,

 

When users are trying to make changes in ESS main bank or other bank details by giving valid as on date in future ie., 01.04.2014 portal is throwing error message

 

"start date must be 26th of march or later."

 

If they are trying to delete other bank record, system won't allow it and throws error message "change in the payroll past is not possible"

 

Payroll control record is in released for correction status for April 2014.

 

T7XSSPERSUBTYPE table has use case A1 for main bank and A2 for other bank maintained.

 

Any thoughts why this error is occuring?

UI5 Employee Profile Issue

I am trying to activate SAP UI5 services from Ehp 7 on a sandbox but when I execute employee profile application from SE80 I am just getting a blank page. So far only leave request application worked file. All other ESS and HRPAO applications are not working properly. Either they are coming up blank or incomplete. We are on SAP Ehp7 SP 21.

 

I am not sure where the issue is. I did debug for many hours but still not able to get past this. Help is much appreciated. I have completed the following setup.

 

1. All the required odata services and SICF nodes have been activated.

 

2. SAP NW Gateway is on the same instance as the ECC. SAP system alias in table /IWFND/V_DFSYAL looks like below. "ABC" RFC dest is setup correctly as type 3.

 

SAP System Alias     Local GW     For Local App     RFC Dest     Software Version

     ABC                                                                      ABC               /IWSPI/BSFND_731

 

3. Under SPRO-->SAP Netweaver-->Activate and Mantain Services - all the services have been activated and system alias shows up as ABC.

 

After completing these steps only the leave request app is working correctly. All other UI5 applications are not working.

collision with full-day absence - warning message support pack update issue

Hi All,

 

After we have updated our SAP support packs to SAP_HR 69 & EA-HR 46 we are encountering collision with full-day absence warning message in the ESS timesheet for some users but if you send it for approval it will be approved successfully without any issues

 

i have checked the followings for the collision with full-day absence warning message dates

 

1. IT2001, IT2002, IT2003 - there are not entries for that particular date

 

2. Catsdb table - there are not entries for that particular date

 

3. we do not have the ESS create leave request

 

it is very strange that we cannot replicate that error in any system even if we copy the data from the production

 

i have read few posts about the same issue but not able to find the fix for it

 

please let me know if you need additional information.
